The website Freakonomics asked readers to name their top 10 list of their favorite living scientists (with a brief explanation). From the top of my mind I wrote this list:- Carol Dweck (author of Mindset, the new psychology of success offers a breakthrough approach to thinking about learning and performance)
- Jeffrey Pfeffer (author of What were they thinking, had management taken his book more seriously there would not have been this financial crisis)
- Joshua Aronson (Stereotype threat researcher: has done some amazing experiments together with Claude Steele)
- Jeffrey Sachs (the earth institute, author common wealth, offers an admirable approach to solving some of the world's biggest problems)
- Anders Ericsson (deliberate practice, has done important research on how expertise and top performance are built)
- Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi (author of Flow, important psychologist who addresses highly important questions such as what is a good life?)
- Timothy Wilson (strangers to ourselves, has done important research on attribution and influence of unconscious processes)
- John Bargh (important researcher on priming)
- Albert-Laszlo Barabasi (author of Linked, has done important network science research and has written a very accessible book about it)
What's your list?
Thank you for sharing your top 10 scientists -very interesting - I shall pass this and your website to others doing or interested in SF coaching.
