An interesting question from the solution-focused approach is the optimism question. The optimism question can be easily used both in one-on-one situations and in group situations. Here are some ways of putting this question:"
- What makes you optimistic?
- Which indications do you have that you will be able to achieve ...?
- Which small signs do see that indicate you will succeed in ....?
The nice thing about this question is that it makes changes easier by strengthening - you have guessed it right!- optimism.
Yes. I was also asked, in order to get focused on my goals, something like: "if your goals get accomplished, how would your life look?" And you had to describe it in different areas like professional, family, as an individual, etc.
